A project is the primary workspace for organizing and sharing vectors, rasters, and maps in Kumoy.

Projects always belong to a team within an organization, and a single team can contain multiple projects.

About Projects#

A project is the main unit of work in Kumoy. It lets you organize and manage maps and data by purpose.

A team can hold multiple projects, keeping vectors, rasters, and maps organized by use case.

What a Project Contains#

You can store and manage multiple vectors, rasters, and maps in a single project.

• Vector: Vector data (layers) managed in the cloud
• Raster: Raster data (layers) managed in the cloud
• Map: A saved state of a map created in QGIS using Kumoy vectors, rasters, XYZ Tiles, and other data

Difference from a QGIS Project#

Kumoy's "project" and QGIS project .qgz file are distinct concepts:

• Kumoy project: An organizational container on the web side for sharing and managing work
• QGIS project (.qgz): The actual map configuration in QGIS

Creating a Project#

Projects can be created from the web or from the QGIS plugin.
