Working Together in Kumoy
Organization Management is how groups work together securely in Kumoy. Everyone joins the Organization first, and then you can sort people into different Teams. Since every project lives inside a Team, it’s easy to control who can see or edit specific maps.
This feature is available on the Team plan and above.
Key Concepts#
A few concepts to understand before diving in:
- The organization management feature handles member invitations, role assignments, team creation, and sharing permissions.
- Users join the organization first, then get added to the relevant teams.
- Each project belongs to exactly one team and is accessed based on that team's permissions.
- The organization defines overall scope of management, while teams control sharing at the project level.
Hierarchy#
Data and permissions are managed in a three-level hierarchy:
-
Organization: Your main hub. This is where you manage your plan, storage, and invite members.
-
Team: Your working groups. Use teams to decide who can see or edit specific projects.
-
Project: Your workspace. This is where you keep all the maps and data for a specific work.
Roles#
Roles are divided as follows, according to the scope of management in the organization or team.
| Role type | Role | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| Organization role | Owner | Manage contracts, members, and the entire organization |
| Admin | Manage members and teams | |
| Member | Join the organization and use the teams and projects they are assigned to | |
| Team role | Editor | Edit projects and data within the team |
| Viewer | View projects and data within the team |
