Storage Units
A Storage Unit (SU) is the unit of storage capacity in Kumoy. Vectors and rasters uploaded to Kumoy use your available SU.
Each plan includes a base SU allowance, which is consumed as data is stored. For the SU included with each plan, see Plan Limits.
ImportantUploading Japan all cities data to Kumoy consumes about 27 SU.
Data That Consumes SU#
Mainly, vector and raster data stored in Kumoy consumes SU.
- Vectors uploaded from QGIS
- Vectors created in QGIS and saved to Kumoy
- Vector layers converted to Kumoy vectors when saving a map
- Rasters uploaded from QGIS
Purchase Additional Storage#
If you run out of capacity, some plans allow you to purchase additional SU to expand your available storage.
For purchase steps, see Update Plan & Add-ons. To check your current SU usage and usage against plan limits, see Usage and Capacity Management.
Tips for Managing Usage#
- Delete unused data: Review and clean up vectors and rasters you're no longer using to reclaim capacity.
- Remove unnecessary attributes: Fewer attribute fields means smaller data. Use the Delete fields or Refactor fields processing tools in QGIS.
- Reduce vertex density: For high-density polygon layers, use tools like Simplify coverage in the processing toolbox to reduce vertex count and file size.
